Finding God
June 7, 2008The world is about to move into a greater than ever state of awareness of God. In fact, the present movement of ‘god-consciousness’ is indicative of this.
However, the great and fatal flaw of all of this ‘god-consciousness’ is that it seeks for God on the outside, somewhere else, almost anywhere else other than the place that He purposed to abide. The place that He chose was in your heart.
God truly is all around us, for there is no where we can go where He is not. He is the Creator of all things, and all things are in Him. Nothing exists separate or apart from Him or outside of Him. In that sense, there is much that appears to make the god-consciousness movement make sense, bear some measure of witness and be very appealing. Therein lies it’s great deception and snare.
If you seek for God on the outside, this is where and how you end up with ‘religion’. Religion, and it makes no difference whether you are Orthodox Jewish, Puritan or Reformed Christian, Buddist, Muslim, environmentalist, nature spiritualist or any other ‘creed’, exists with God on the outside. It is content to know that God is somewhere else other than in you.
Those who come to accept a ‘god within’ approach to god-consciousness, are unaware that there is also a little ‘g’ god that is to be contended with. This little ‘g’ god seeks to exalt itself above all that is God, presumes to take His place in our lives, and will seduce and deceive and make a lovely tapestried bed of spices for us all to fall into, in the name of love, mercy and compassion, that is none of those things. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are not the only things that can be counterfeit. His fruit can also be counterfeit, and that is the basis of ‘humanism’ and the form of godliness. This is the spirit of error, and it is the great threat that stands before the true believer in Christ.
Faith is a double-edged sword leading unto life to those who follow after and obey God, unto a love of righteousness and truth that is formed of the Holy Spirit, or it will be a faith that trusts in it’s own ability to manifest the kingdom of God, and the fruit of the Holy Spirit, by it’s own hand and means.
That which is of it’s own self, no matter how it is empowered, is religion, and religion creates a prison that keeps you from God, keeps you from knowing God, keeps you in a bondage of fear that moves you to fight against God, and all the while believing yourself to be unto God.
It is written:
He that leadeth into capitvity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. [Rev. 13:10]
There is a more detailed explanation of the why’s and wherefore’s that underly this particular Word in Jeremiah 18:11-17.
The Gentile ‘Church’ has been in this captivity since the end of WW2, particularly with the growing emphasis and participation of the ‘charismatic/pentecostal/faith-word/signs-wonders-miracles’ crowd, has been preaching and teaching out of the place of this captivity, has been seeking to set captives free all the while that it has been in a prison of it’s own. It has been in a place of the blind seeking to lead the blind, teachers of that which they do not know nor understand themselves.
They do not know God, nor His ways, and all because they have not sought for the heart of God on the inside. They did not take up the cross to follow after Christ, to come to learn and know the ways of God that deliver them from the deceitful snare. Instead, they have ridden on the high horse of going forth to conquer. Such was not the way of Christ.
God has no pleasure in those who draw back from taking up the cross, for it is only through the judgments of the cross that you will come to know the truth that delivers you from the lusts, prides and desires of the world. It is only as you are separated from these that you are of any eternal use unto God, and it is only in being separated from, cleansed and purged from any of these that you will have any authority against the darkness of the world.
Know that there are two kinds of authority. Servants have authority that comes from those whom they serve. Eliezer, the servant of Abraham had this authority. Caleb is also the type of this authority. Then there is the authority that comes from the person that you are. Abraham and Joshua had this type of authority. It is the authority that comes from righteousness and right doing in and of God, that cannot be led away by the world, the darkness or it’s issues.
You most overcome you, if you would have this kind of authority. You must know, and you must believe, and you must have the faith of the knowledge of God if you would stand. You cannot fight a battle on two fronts and win. Use the battle without to get rid of the battle within, through confession and faith of the blood of Christ to cleanse of all unrighteousness (all that is you), and you will be enabled to stand and withstand the evil day, able to fight a battle on one front only – the one that is out there – in the love and knowledge of the ways and truths of God.
Thus saith the LORD God; If the price give a gift unto any of His sons, the inheritance thereof shall be his sons” it shall be their possession by inheritance.
But if He give a gift of HIs inheritance to one of His servants, then it shall be his to the year of liberty; after it shall return to the Prince: but His inheritance shall be His sons’ for them.
Moreover the Prince shall not take of the people’s inheritance by oppression, to thrust them out of their possession; but He shall give His sons inheritance out of His own possession: that My people be not scattered every man from His possession. [Ezek. 46:16-18]
Those who merely choose to be servants of God will lose that which they believe that they have, as it is written, Those who seek to sve their life shall lost it, and those who seek to lose their life shall save it, unto eternal life. There are many more scriptures that speak of this very thing.
To be more direct, those who follow after a Caleb spirit of ‘give me my mountain’ will lose their right of inheritance, and will hear the words spoken of in Matthew 7:21-23 – ‘Depart from Me, for I never knew you’.
